WE HAVE A WINNER!!! Leplady, who left the 46th comment, wins!! See the screenshot down below. And to everyone else: Lisa is offering free shipping to anyone who orders through the end of March. Please use the code FREEBIRD. Thanks so much for entering!
Once again, I'm so excited about my latest giveaway! Lisa, who creates jewelry for MyFling, is offering $50 to spend in her Etsy shop, along with free shipping--woohoo!! Thanks, Lisa!! My husband got me a necklace through Lisa's shop for Mother's Day last year (with a little guidance from yours truly), and I absolutely love it!!! I'm a huge fan of handstamped jewelry, and I poured all over the internet and Etsy shops trying to find a style that suited me. Like many of us, I am rarely dressed to hit the town as I zip around in my minivan all day long. (Let's face it, I'm lucky if I'm showered!) So I wanted a necklace that was casual enough to be worn everyday with anything, and yet be meaningful and beautiful at the same time--and when I stumbled on MyFling, I knew I had found just what I had been searching for! :)
I love how Lisa's pieces are distressed, and she often mixes the metals. Her work is right up my alley, and I hope you'll love it, too! My husband knew I was hoping for a necklace last spring with my four girls' initials on it, and after he came to me all stressed out and overwhelmed by the many choices he was finding (and begging for some guidance), I gave him the link to MyFling--and he and Lisa figured out the rest!
Since then, I've worked with Lisa myself to order a friend a necklace for her 40th birthday (see below). A few of us grouped up and gave her this gift--it had "four charms to celebrate 40 blessed years", and we used the word "blessed" along with the initials of her two children; a charm to mark her marriage to her stud of a husband (tell him I said that--ha!); and we added her birthstone as well. I enjoyed every bit of working with Lisa on this special piece for my dear friend; and the best part: my friend loves her necklace just as I love mine! :)
Please read below to see how you can enter this fun giveaway! You can treat yourself if you win (!), or you could even use your prize as a gift. I can't wait to see who wins!! Thanks, Lisa, for sharing your talents with all of us!
P.S. I'm promoting this giveaway here. If you are looking for more fun things to win, this site has a long list--maybe you'll be a lucky winner or discover a new blog you love! (But don't forget about little ol' me!) xo

(Facebook is a great way to follow me if you use it because I can interact with you more there and send quick notes!) :)
This is the necklace we had made for our friend, along with the note we attached... a fun gift idea! We used four charms for 40 years, but you could use any number of charms to celebrate a special decade! :)

WOW! I love everything! I especially love the mixed metal. I think I would do a combo for my husband, my {{almost}} 7 year old son and my son that will be here in May! My husband and son are my absolute world, I had my son when I was 17 and he is my constant reminder that God has a reason and a plan for everything, I couldn't imagine my life with out him or my wonderful husband who treats my son as his own. I would love to see if she could stamp an anchor on the jewelry for my husband who is in the Navy. :) so excited to find her work!
HarvardHomemaker - 16 Feb, 2013 at 8:06 pm

Hi Christi,
I checked out Etsy's collection and decided that my number one choice is the hand stamped Mixed Metals and then second would be Three's Company.
Is this the same website that my daughter is crazy about which sells more than just jewelry?
lainstar@nc.rr.com
HarvardHomemaker - 01 Mar, 2013 at 12:22 pm
Hi there! Yes, Etsy is a place where people can set up a "shop." I have had so much luck with Etsy--I have purchased jewelry, bedding, clothing, artwork, baby hats, handmade ornaments, etc. You'd be amazed what you can find. And it's neat because you know you're supporting someone who typically just works out of their home doing something they love! I've had great experiences with everyone I've worked with... thanks for entering the giveaway!
tbr22 - 01 Mar, 2013 at 9:43 am
I would go with the Mixed metal handstamped necklace. There are so many beautiful choices!!
HarvardHomemaker - 01 Mar, 2013 at 12:23 pm
I know, it's so hard to decide! Thanks for entering--have a great weekend! :)
beckybee - 01 Mar, 2013 at 11:56 am
Haha! Came across her (myfling) site while looking for a bday gift for an old friend! I'm thinking about doing a mixed metal piece...but she has 4 kids (and I like the look of odd numbers)...so I'll need her help on how to make it look properly "unbalanced!)
HarvardHomemaker - 01 Mar, 2013 at 12:25 pm
So funny!! Maybe you can add a fifth one with her wedding date or "blessed" or her birthstone to made it odd--I agree, there's something visually appealing about those odd numbers! (You and I both really messed up, then, having four kids I guess?!) Thanks for entering--have a great weekend, my friend!
emily_a_oleson - 01 Mar, 2013 at 2:10 pm

Wowie! I really LOVE the Whole Lot Of Love neclace. ...and everything else on the site. I think I would get that, with my daughters names. Love the design of all of her jewelry. Thanks

I have long wanted a necklace like this but have never found one I felt I could afford that really fit my style. These MyFling designs are beautiful and affordable - just what I've been looking for. I'd go for the Designed by You Mixed metal necklace. It would be the perfect gift to myself for my 40th birthday this year!

That sounds perfect!! 40 amazing years for sure. :) Glad you like her designs, too! I searched and searched until I finally found her shop myself! xo

Hard decision but I think I'd go with the Handstamped Mixed-metals Necklace with my two sons names. They're all so unique.

I am so glad I opened your newsletter today! I would probably chose the My everything necklace with our anniversary, our daughters name, my hubbies name, and our last name initial.

Oh good--nice to hear that! You never want to annoy anyone with emails in their inbox... that's why I only send one per month! :) The necklace sounds perfect and meaningful--love it!
